Built for length

Three shapes that need a whole book

Short ebooks forgive a lot. Long ones do not. These are the shapes where every chapter has to remember the ones before it.

Fiction novel

Cast, setting and arc are fixed in the specification, so chapter twenty-five remembers chapter one.

25 chapters · 20003000 words each · 90 credits

Online course

Modules with lessons, exercises and recaps, in an order that builds.

17 chapters · 15002000 words each · 50 credits

Research report

Findings, analysis and recommendations, with tables where the data wants them.

10 chapters · 15002000 words each · 35 credits

How a long book stays one book

  1. A specification fixes the audience, the voice and the promise before any chapter exists.
  2. The outline is written in full, so every chapter knows its place in the whole.
  3. Each chapter is generated against the outline and the chapters before it.
  4. A second pass polishes every chapter for the page: headings, callouts, tables, lists.

Short books skip none of this. Long ones cannot survive without it.

How it works

Three steps. One of them is waiting.

You make the decisions. Bookseed does the typing. Close the tab if you like, the book keeps growing on our side.

Step one

Describe the book

Write one sentence. Bookseed infers the book type, the reader and the tone, and asks you to confirm.

About a minute
Step two

Shape the plan

Pick from three titles or write your own. Read the table of contents, rename chapters, ask for a second draft.

Two or three minutes
Step three

Let it grow

Every chapter is written, then polished with callouts, tables and lists. The cover is painted, the PDF typeset and the EPUB and Word files prepared. You get an email when it is done.

Things people ask before they plant

If yours is not here, write to hello@bookseed.io. A person answers.

Common questions

How long a book can it write?

A novel runs twenty-five chapters, a course seventeen, a report ten. Chapters are written one at a time against the full outline, so length does not cost coherence. Add or remove chapters in the outline before you build.

Does it write the whole book, or just an outline I finish myself?

The whole book. Every chapter is written in full and polished for the page. You can rewrite any chapter afterwards, but nothing is left as a placeholder.

How does Bookseed actually write the book?

It plans the book first: a specification, a title and a chapter outline. Then it writes every chapter, polishes each one for the page, paints a cover and typesets a PDF with page numbers and a table of contents. EPUB, Word and print files come with it.

What happens if I close the tab while it is generating?

Nothing is lost. Generation runs on our servers, not in your browser. Close the tab, shut your laptop, come back later. You get an email when the book is ready.

What can I read for free?

Every plan generates the whole book, cover included. On the free plan you can read the first two chapters in the flip-book preview, with no card needed.

Is the finished book really mine?

Yes. The idea and the finished book are yours — publish it, sell it, print it. We claim no rights in either.
